Ermy‌ ‌and‌ ‌I‌ ‌met‌ ‌each‌ ‌other‌ ‌in‌ ‌Canada‌ ‌during‌ ‌our‌ ‌mid-twenties.‌ ‌We‌ ‌both‌ ‌came‌ ‌to‌ ‌the‌ ‌states‌ ‌prepared‌ ‌to‌ ‌start‌ ‌a‌ ‌life‌ ‌together‌ ‌not‌ ‌knowing‌ ‌the‌ ‌future‌ ‌ahead‌ ‌of‌ ‌us.‌ ‌Just‌ ‌like‌ ‌any‌ ‌other‌ ‌couple‌ ‌we‌ ‌had‌ ‌been‌ ‌dreaming‌ ‌to‌ ‌own‌ ‌a‌ ‌business,‌ ‌we‌ ‌also‌ ‌never‌ ‌anticipated‌ ‌the‌ ‌restaurant‌ ‌business‌ ‌would‌ ‌be‌ ‌one‌ ‌of‌ ‌them,‌ ‌so‌ ‌in‌ ‌a‌ ‌sense‌, ‌the‌ ‌restaurant‌ ‌came‌ ‌to‌ ‌us.‌ ‌We‌ ‌were‌ ‌both‌ ‌raised‌ ‌in‌ ‌big‌ ‌families‌ ‌where‌ ‌they‌ ‌valued‌ ‌cooking‌ ‌and‌ ‌our‌ ‌culture‌ ‌was ‌very‌ ‌important.‌ ‌Being‌ ‌born‌ ‌in‌ ‌an‌ ‌area‌ ‌where‌ ‌food‌ ‌was‌ ‌fresh,‌ ‌from‌ ‌farm‌ ‌to‌ ‌store‌ ‌we‌ ‌like‌ ‌to‌ ‌provide‌ ‌to‌ ‌our‌ ‌customers‌ ‌being‌ ‌able‌ ‌to‌ ‌know‌ ‌what‌ ‌is‌ ‌in‌ ‌their‌ ‌food‌ ‌based‌ ‌on‌ ‌the‌ ‌freshness‌ ‌of‌ ‌it.‌ ‌

Being pregnant with my third child and running around with my first and second their were some thoughts of surrendering our business idea, but thanks to friends and family we got through it. Wanting to open a restaurant started at a young age my sister teaching me how to cook, The first dish she taught me to make was kitfo be kibe, which is one of our top dishes today! Cooking to me is just a melting pot of flavors you just can’t wait to try each one.
